Ban Abbas School held a memorial service today, Wednesday (April 8, 2026), for the child Siraj Muhammad Qadouri, who was killed in a missile strike on Tuesday evening (April 7, 2026) that targeted his home in the Al-Amiriya district, west of Baghdad.

The Director of Educational Supervision for the First Karkh Education Directorate, Aws Al-Hamdani, said, “Siraj’s journey is empty today, but he will remain immortal in our hearts.” He urged his classmates to study hard and achieve the highest grades because “their success will bring joy to Siraj in his grave.”

The ceremony included the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah for the deceased, followed by a moment of silence in the schoolyard.

أقامت مدرسة بان عباس، اليوم الأربعاء (8 نيسان 2026)، حفلاً تأبينياً للطفل سراج محمد قدوري الذي راح ضحيـ،ـة قصـ،ـف صاروخـ،ـي، مساء الثلاثاء (7 نيسان 2026)، استهدف منزله في منطقة العامرية غربي بغداد.
وقال مدير الإشراف التربوي في تربية الكرخ الأولى أوس الحمداني، إن “رحلة سراج فارغة اليوم لكنه سيبقى خالداً في قلوبنا”، ودعا زملاءه التلاميذ إلى الاجتهاد بالدراسة وبلوغ أعلى الدرجات لأن “تفوقهم سيفرح سراج في قبره”.
وشهد الحفل قراءة سورة الفاتحة على روح الفقيد، أعقبها وقفة حداد في ساحة المدرسة.
