The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a joint security operation with the International Coalition against an ISIS cell in the Hasakah countryside. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that one member of the cell, a leader within the organization, detonated a suicide belt, killing another member during fierce clashes as their hideout in the town of Markada in southern Hasakah was surrounded. The operation also resulted in the arrest of five other members of the cell.

نفذت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية "قسد" حملة أمنية مشتركة مع قوات التحالف الدولي ضد خلية لتنظيم "داعش" في ريف الحسكة. وقال المرصد السوري إن أحد أفراد الخلية، وهو قياديّ بالتنظيم، فجّر نفسه بحزام ناسف وقتل عنصرًا آخر خلال اشتباكات عنيفة أثناء محاصرة مخبأهم في بلدة مركدة بريف الحسكة الجنوبي. كما أسفرت العملية عن اعتقال خمسة عناصر آخرين من أفراد الخلية.
