The assassination of Mohammed al-Amour, a personal bodyguard of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, was the result of an Israeli airstrike targeting him in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli army. The army stated that the military operation, which began Sunday in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, aims to target Hamas infrastructure and expand the defensive zone in the north, coinciding with an urgent request to evacuate the area.
