كَشف أمر الإسرائيليين، بعدما نُمي إلى الأهالي صوت جرافة، مصدره مقبرة البلدة، ما دفع سيدة تسكن منزلًا مجاورًا لمقابر البلدة بالخروج في الشرفة، لاستطلاع ما يحدث، غير أن قناصًا إسرائيليًا لم يمهلها "خالتي حمدى أسعد الحلباوي استشهدت في برندة بيتها من قناص إسرائيلي". مأساة يرويها علي حمداني الذي فقد خالته وابنها معًا "وقت شاف ابنها علي رضا الحلباوي خالتي عم تنزف حاول ياخدها على المستشفى بسيارته، لكن كمان الإسرائيلي قصفهم بالسيارة، واستشهدوا الاتنين".
