Puntland and the United States have issued different reports on the airstrikes in the Calmiskaad mountains.
The United States government, in a press release, said that on May 11, a day before, it carried out a series of airstrikes in the Calmiskaad mountains in the Bari region, targeting ISIS militants.
In this press release, the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) said that it had carried out a series of airstrikes targeting ISIS militants hiding in the Calmiskaad mountains in the Bari region, although it did not disclose the casualties caused by the airstrikes.
In the press release, the AFRICOM Command said that the airstrike was carried out approximately 60km south of the Qandala district in the Bari region, while the Puntland Defense Forces Command said that the airstrike took place in Shilin-as, part of the Miraale stream in the Calmiskaad mountains.
The Media Office of the Calmiskaad operation, which issued a statement on the airstrike, confirmed that it was carried out in the Shilin-cas area of the Miraale River, where more than 10 ISIS members were killed, whose bodies were displayed by Puntland.
