An Indian national was killed in Abu Dhabi after falling debris from a ballistic missile intercepted by UAE air defence systems struck the city amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, the Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed. The incident occurred on Sweihan Street, where debris from the intercepted missile fell, killing two people an Indian and a Pakistani national and injuring three others, including Emirati, Jordanian and another Indian citizen. Emergency services were deployed to the scene and vehicles were damaged in the incident.
Officials said the debris resulted from successful interception efforts as the United Arab Emirates responded to missile and drone threats from Iran, highlighting the danger such spillage can pose to civilians even when defence systems are effective.
