The Al-Manar TV cameraman, Kamel Karaki, was killed this morning in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Qantara while covering the events of the war between Israel and Hezbollah.

Kamel is not the first journalist to fall victim to this senseless war. He was preceded in the same events by Reuters cameraman Issam Abdullah, and Al-Mayadeen TV journalist Hadi al-Sayed, who was killed when his home was bombed, among many others.

The escalation between the two sides continues, coinciding with the displacement of most of the residents of southern Lebanon and the increasing number of dead, wounded, and destroyed villages.

كامل ليس الصحافي الأوّل الذي يسقط ضحيّة هذه الحرب العبثيّة، فقد سبقه في الأحداث ذاتها المصوّر الصحافيّ في وكالة رويترز عصام عبد الله، والصحفي هادي السيّد من قناة الميادين الذي استشهد نتيجة قصف منزله, وكثر غيرهم.
يستمرّ التصعيد بين الطرفين، بالتزامن مع نزوح معظم أهالي الجنوب، وتزايد أعداد القتلى والجرحى والقرى المدمّرة.
