The death toll from the attack on the Al-Tabi'in School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood (central Gaza City) early Saturday morning has risen to over 100, with dozens more wounded and missing, in one of the largest massacres witnessed in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks.

The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the Israeli bombing of the Al-Tabi'in School resulted in a massacre that claimed the lives of more than 100 people and left dozens injured.

In a statement, the office added that the Israeli occupation army directly targeted displaced people while they were performing the dawn prayer, which rapidly increased the number of casualties. Eyewitnesses stated that the bombing began immediately after the opening takbir (Allahu Akbar).

The Media Office noted that due to the scale of the massacre and the large number of casualties, medical teams, civil defense personnel, and emergency and relief teams have not yet been able to recover the bodies of all the victims. The Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismail al-Thawabta, stated that the Israeli occupation forces bombed a school sheltering displaced people with three missiles, each weighing 2,000 pounds of explosives.

He emphasized that the occupation army was aware of the presence of displaced people inside the school, and that the Israeli army's account of what happened is full of lies and fabricated information. He added that the army is attempting to justify its crimes against our people through these false statements.

He further stated that they are facing extreme difficulty in transferring the bodies of the martyrs and the severed limbs of the wounded.

For his part, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said that the Israeli army bombed the al-Tabi'in School in the al-Daraj neighborhood with three missiles in a massacre of displaced people who were performing the dawn prayer at the school.

He added that the bombing resulted in the martyrdom of approximately 90% of those who were praying, and that most of the injuries are very serious.

وأفاد المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي في غزة بأن القصف الإسرائيلي على مدرسة التابعين أسفر عن مذبحة راح ضحيتها أكثر من 100 شهيد وعشرات الإصابات.
وأضاف المكتب، في بيان، أن جيش الاحتـ ـ.ـلال الإسرائيلي قصف النازحين بشكل مباشر في أثناء تأديتهم صلاة الفجر، مما رفع أعداد الشهداء بشكل متسارع، في حين ذكر شهود عيان أن القصف بدأ عقب تكبيرة الإحرام مباشرة.
وأشار المكتب الإعلامي إلى أنه من هول المذبحة وعدد الشهداء الكبير، لم تتمكن الطواقم الطبية والدفاع المدني وفرق الإغاثة والطوارئ من انتشال جثامين جميع الشهداء حتى الآن.
وقال المدير العام للمكتب الإعلامي الحكومي في غزة إسماعيل الثوابتة إن الاحتـ ـ.ـلال الإسرائيلي قصف مدرسة تؤوي نازحين بـ3 صواريخ يزن كل واحد منها ألفي رطل من المتفجرات.
وأكد أن جيش الاحتـ ـ.ـلال كان يعلم بوجود النازحين داخل المدرسة، وأن رواية الجيش الإسرائيلي لما حدث مليئة بالأكاذيب والمعلومات المزيفة، وأنه يسعى من خلال بياناته الزائفة تبرير جرائمه في حق شعبنا.
وأضاف نجد صعوبة بالغة في نقل جثامين الشهداء وأجزاء الجرحى المتقطعة.
ومن جهته، قال الناطق باسم الدفاع المدني في غزة محمود بصل إن الجيش الإسرائيلي قصف مدرسة التابعين في حي الدرج بـ3 صواريخ في مجزرة بحق نازحين كانوا يؤدون صلاة الفجر في المدرسة.
وأضاف أن القصف أدى إلى استشهاد قرابة 90% ممن كانوا يؤدون الصلاة، كما أن الإصابات معظمها بليغة جدا.
