"And give good tidings to those who patiently persevere, who, when afflicted with calamity, say, 'Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we will return.'" My hand trembles, O God, denying that it is writing the martyrdom of her soul. My heart says, "I am content," and my senses are overwhelmed, and I collapse before the enormity of the tragedy. We say only what pleases You, my beloved God, so grant patience to our grieving hearts, for by God, this is an unbearable pain. With God, in mercy and peace: My sister Haya, the joy of my heart and its first companion, my father's darling and my mother's delight, and her husband Tariq, my kind, cheerful, and generous brother, and our angel, their child Lana; and my uncle, Haj Ziad Hussein Al-Hour, and his wife, his two daughters, his sons, his daughters-in-law, and his grandchildren; and my uncle, Dr. Abdul Rahman Hussein Al-Hour, and his wife, and a number of his sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. O God, accept them. Martyrs in the highest heavens, have mercy on them with Your compassionate mercy, and grant them the bliss of Your vast paradise. You have attained the eternal peace and security we all wish for. May God make it easy for you. Blessed are you, my beloved ones, blessed are you all for being chosen for the place that befits you. May God give us the strength to bear your loss. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.
