I had hoped that someone would be found alive under the rubble.

But they are blessed... God loved them and chose them to be with Him. Our moons... our beloved ones... God willing, they are martyrs, and we do not presume to judge anyone before God.
After their bodies were recovered from under the rubble:
Aunt Jamila (Musa's mother)
Uncle Maher and his sons Fadi, Youssef, and Abdul Rahman
Uncle Yasser's wife and her daughters Shahd and Malak and her sons Sharaf and Muhammad
Aunt Yasmin and Lamia's daughters
You are not just a number added to the martyrs.
You are love, sweet days, and memories we will never forget.
You are a sweet soul dwelling within all of us.
And we will never forget the moments we lived with you among us.
How fortunate we are to have you.
Our family wasn't very large, but thank God that He loves us and chose a large part of us to be martyrs, God willing.
And may God grant us a good end and reunite us with you. In Paradise.
May God have mercy on you and on us.
To God we belong and to Him we shall return.

كان عندي امل انو اي حد يطلع عايش من تحت الانقاض
بس نيالهم .. ربنا حبهم واختارهم يكونو جنبه

انتو حب وايام حلوه وزكريات عمرنا ما هننساها
انتو روح حلوه ساكنه بروحنا كلنا
وعمرنا ما هننسى لحظاتنا الي عشناها يوجودكم بينا
يا بختنا فيكم
عيلتنا مكانتش كبيييييره كتير بس الحمدلله انو ربنا بحبنا واختار يكون منا جزء كبير شهداء باذن الله
وعقبالنا ربنا يحسن ختامنا ويجمعنا فيكم بالجنه
