But her aunt's house in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza, where she and her family sought refuge, wasn't safe enough.
With her loss, the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music lost one of its most talented and passionate students.

The Edward Said National Conservatory of Music at Birzeit University mourns its student, the martyr Lubna Mahmoud Alayan, a resident of Gaza City, who was martyred along with her family. Her father, the martyr Mahmoud Alayan, her mother, the martyr Sally Shaheen Alayan, and her brothers, the martyrs Zain, Kinan, and Sari—in addition to dozens of her relatives—were killed in a Zionist airstrike that targeted them at her aunt and uncle's home in Nuseirat on the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
May God have mercy on their souls and the souls of all our martyrs in Gaza and all of Palestine. We offer our deepest condolences to her surviving family, her classmates, teachers, and friends, and pray for their patience in this tragedy.
Lubna Alayan was a violin student at the Gaza Music Institute. She was one of the institute's distinguished students, and she sang and played music to express joy and life. She aspired for music to be an integral part of her future and for it to be her means of representing her people, her city, and Palestine in Palestinian, Arab, and international orchestras.
Lubna, everyone who knew you at the National Conservatory of Music will miss you. As we grieve your departure, along with that of your family, relatives, and the more than 20,000 martyrs this month, we pledge to fulfill your aspirations and ensure that the voices of Palestine resonate locally, regionally, and internationally. Despite the pain and suffering, we believe in the inevitable end of the criminal occupation, and we vow to our martyrs that we will not allow the enemy to escape accountability for its crimes. The Palestinian people will accept nothing less than their freedom, return, and self-determination in return for these immense sacrifices.
May you rest in eternal peace, Lubna, and all the martyrs of Palestine.

Our martyrs are not numbers; they are individuals with names.

عشان أنا شغوفة بالكمان، وسأصبح من أهم عازفي الكمان في العالم.
لكن بيت عمتها في منطقة "النصيرات" / وسط غزة ، حيث احتمت مع عائلتها، لم يكن آمنا بما فيه الكفاية.
بفقدانها فقد "معهد إدوارد سعيد" للموسيقى إحدى أنجب طالباته، وأكثرهن شغفاً.
وكان نعاها المعهد :
ينعى "معهد إدوارد سعيد الوطني للموسيقى" - جامعة بيرزيت - طالبته الش@هيدة لبنى محمود عليان، من سكان مدينة غزة، والتي اس@تشهدت مع عائلتها ؛ والدها الش@هيد محمود عليان ووالدتها الش@هيدة سالي شاهين عليان وأُخوتها الش@هداء : "زين" و"كنان" و"ساري" - إضافة إلى العشرات من أقاربها - في غارة صهيونية استهدفتهم في منزل عمتها وزوجها في "النصيرات" - صباح يوم الثلاثاء ٢١ تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر ٢٠٢٣.
الرحمة لأرواحهم وأرواح ش@هدائنا في غزة، وكل فلسطين، ونقدم لعائلتها المتبقية وزملائها وأساتذتها وأصدقائها أحر التعازي والصبر على هذا المصاب.
كانت الطالبة لبنى عليان تدرس في "مدرسة غزة للموسيقى" على آلة الكمان، وهي من طلبة المعهد المميزات، وكانت تغني وتعزف للفرح والحياة، وكانت تطمح أن تكون الموسيقى جزءاً أساسياً من مستقبلها، وأن تكون وسيلتها لتمثّل أهلها ومدينتها وفلسطين في الأوركسترات الفلسطينية والعربية والعالمية.
لبنى، سيشتاق لك كل من عرفك من "المعهد الوطني للموسيقى".
ونحن اذ يمتلكنا الحزن لمغادرتك لنا، أنت وعائلتك وأقاربك وأكثر من ٢٠ ألف ش@هيد هذا الشهر، نعاهدك أن نحقق طموحاتك وأن تصدح أصوات فلسطين محلياً وعربياً وعالمياً. بالرغم من الألم والجراح، نؤمن بحتمية زوال الاحتلال المجرم ونعاهد ش@هداءنا ألا نسمح لعدو أن يفلت من المحاسبة على جرائمه، ولن يقبل الشعب الفلسطيني ما هو أقل من حريته وعودته وتقرير مصيره مقابل هذه التضحيات العظيمة.
