I knew him as a boy who was no more than sixteen years old when he was displaced from our village of Ayat due to his father's dire poverty. He lived with me in Al-Nab'a in a modest apartment after securing a job at a company specializing in vehicle tire maintenance, based at the airport. He soon brought his mother, brother, and sister and continued working diligently and perseveringly to support his family. Due to his great dedication and devotion, the company decided to appoint him as their agent in Africa. He traveled, worked hard, and secured a financial future for himself and his siblings. He then moved to Lebanon, married his cousin, who was also a martyr, built them a house, opened a car accessories shop, and was blessed with four sons in the prime of their lives. Now, two of them are martyrs, and the youngest is among the missing... This is the story of Muhammad Subhi Za'itar and his family, which made me weep tears of blood.
