Mohammed Hijazi, 7 years old, from Jabalia, north of Gaza. He survived airstrikes more than once and fled with his family to the south to escape death. During the ceasefire, Mohammed tried to return to his childhood…to play.
But while playing, he found a strange object. He didn't know that the small object was a remnant of war until it exploded. His injury was severe…he lost all of his sight. One eye was removed, and the other can no longer see.
Today, Mohammed sees nothing…not light, not color, not even his own face.
He has been deprived of everything…even light.
His father, Abu Mohammed, is working hard to get him out of Gaza for treatment abroad, hoping that doctors can save his remaining eye.
Perhaps he will see again…even if only in one eye.

محمد حجازي، 7 سنوات، من جباليا شمال غزة. نجا من الغارات أكثر من مرة، ونزح مع عائلته إلى الجنوب هربًا من الموت. وفي فترة وقف إطلاق النار، حاول محمد أن يعود لطفولته… أن يلعب.
لكنه أثناء اللعب، عثر على جسم غريب. لم يعلم أن ذلك الجسم الصغير هو من مخلفات الحرب، حتى انفجر به. وكانت إصابته بالغة… فقد بصره بالكامل. عينٌ أُزيلت، والأخرى لم تعد ترى
اليوم، لا يرى محمد شيئًا… لا الضوء، لا الألوان، ولا حتى وجهه.
حُرم من كل شيء… حتى النور.
والده، أبو محمد، يسعى جاهدًا لإخراجه من غزة لتلقي العلاج في الخارج، أملًا في أن يتمكن الأطباء من إنقاذ عينه المتبقية.
لعلّه يرى من جديد… ولو بعين واحدة.
