He always used to say, "I have not seen my grandfather." Now his wish came true and he saw his grandfather and finally rested next to the grave of his martyred grandfather."

متین صفائیان از همان کودکی عاشق ورزش بود. رشته اسکیت را دوست داشت چراکه می‌توانست به‌واسطه آن سرعت را تجربه کند. بی‌وقفه در کنار درس و مدرسه اسکیت‌سواری می‌کرد و با عضویت در تیم نوجوانان توانسته بود مقام‌های متعددی کسب کند. اسکیت رشته ساده‌ای نیست. اسکیت یعنی بارها زمین خوردن و برخاستن، بی‌ترس و محابا پیش رفتن و متین عاشق همین بود. پدر می‌گوید: «دوست داشت در آینده یک مدرسه اسکیت راه‌اندازی کند. باور داشت که ورزش برای سرگرمی، شور و هیجان جوانی بهترین گزینه است. بعدازظهرها به ۶ و ۷ نفر آموزش می‌داد. مدرک غریق‌نجاتی‌اش را گرفته بود. به زبان انگلیسی و فرانسه تسلط داشت و یکی از دانش آموزان موفق مدرسه امام موسی صدر منطقه یک بود. حالا شما بگویید من در فقدان چنین فرزندی که آرزوی هر پدر و مادری است چه کنم؟ او در رشته ریاضی تحصیل می‌کرد و مصمم بود خلبان شود. او شوق پرواز داشت.»

روز حادثه متین به بازار تجریش رفته بود تا برای معلم و مدیر مدرسه‌اش هدیه‌ای بخرد. قصد داشت برای قدردانی از آن‌ها به مدرسه برود. در مسیر با مادرش تماس گرفته و اطلاع می‌دهد که برای تعویض لباس به خانه می‌آید و بعداز آن به مدرسه برود. اعظم عصاران، مادر متین می‌گوید: «پسرم کاش با همان لباس غیررسمی رفته بود. متین بسیار باادب بود و به آداب معاشرت اهمیت می‌داد. می‌گفت تیشرت برای مدرسه و حاضر شدن پیش مدیر مدرسه مناسب نیست. روز قبل از شهادتش بسیار غمگین بود. وقتی خبر شهادت سردار سلامی را شنید لوح تقدیری که از دستان سردار گرفته بود را در دست گرفت و گفت: «مامان، خیلی حیف شد.»
بغضی در چشمانش بود. متین با شهادت بیگانه نبود. بیست‌ماهه بودم که پدرم، شهید علی‌اکبر عصاران، سال ۱۳۶۲ در منطقه گیلان غرب شهید شد. تنها با خاطراتش زندگی کردم. بااینکه هیچ‌گاه پدرم را ندیدم ولی آن‌قدر حضور معنوی پدرم در خانه پررنگ بود که متین همیشه می‌گفت دلم می‌خواست پدربزرگم را از نزدیک ببینم. همیشه عادت داشت بگوید: «پدربزرگ ندیده‌ام.» حالا به آرزویش رسید و پدربزرگش را دید و بالاخره در کنار مزار پدربزرگ شهیدش آرام گرفت.»

حمید ریاحی، مربی تیم ملی اسکیت‌برد، از وقتی متین ۷ ساله بود او را می‌شناخت. از همان روزهایی که متین وقتی کفش اسکیت را می‌پوشید و در محوطه تمرین بارها به زمین می‌خورد وبرمی خاست. او می‌گوید: «تکه‌ای از جانمان را با خود برد. متین به معنای واقعی آرام و صبور بود. چقدر این اسم برازنده‌اش بود. اهداف بزرگی را در این رشته دنبال می‌کرد و به‌حق هم شایسته بود. روزی که بمباران‌ها شروع شد تماس گرفت و گفت: بیاییم باشگاه؟ گفتم: فعلاً تمرین نکنیم بهتر است. خنده‌ای کرد و گفت: «ما را نمی‌زنند.» از طریق خانواده‌اش متوجه شدم. مادرش زنگ زد و گفت: «متین دیگر تمرین نمی‌آید.» عکس‌ها و نام متین در شبکه‌های اجتماعی دست‌به‌دست می‌شد. تلفنم بی‌وقفه زنگ می‌خورد و دوستان و هم‌تیمی‌هایش تماس می‌گرفتند. کسی باورش نمی‌شد؛ یعنی دیگر متین بین ما نیست؟

شهادت متین صفاییان از آینده داران رشته اسکیت، جمعی کثیری از ورزشکاران، فرماندهان رشید، دانشمندان گران‌مایه، مردم و کودکان بی‌گناه کشورم را تسلیت و تبریک می‌گویم. ما ایمان‌داریم که دشمنان تاوانی سخت خواهند چشید. متأسفانه چیزی که بار دیگر نمایان شد اینکه مسئولان کمیته بین‌المللی المپیک چشمان خود را به این تعرض بسته‌اند و از جوامع بین‌المللی درخواست داریم که سکوت را بشکنند و با این رژیم کودک کش برخورد جدی کنند تا دیگر شاهد بروز این اتفاقات تلخ در هیچ کجای کره خاکی نباشیم.
نکته‌ای که حائز اهمیت است و باید به آن توجه ویژه‌ای کرد، اینکه جامعه ورزش بار دیگر نشان دادند از مردم جداشدنی نیستند و یک رابطه عمیق و دوطرفه میان این دو قشر حکم‌فرماست. همان‌طورکه مردم همواره در لحظات دشوار کنار قهرمانان بوده‌اند و از موفقیت‌های ورزشکاران خوشحال و از شکست‌ها ناراحت می‌شوند، جامعه ورزش هم در کنار مردم ایستاده است.
خوشبختانه تمام دنیا به چشم دید که مردم ایران به چه صورتی از نیروهای نظامی که جانانه از کشور دفاع می‌کنند، حمایت کرده است. مردم باافتخار نشان دادند تعلق خاصی به این سرزمین دارند و نیروهای توانمند مسلح درس عبرتی به دشمنان دادند که آن‌ها دیگر فکر نکنند می‌توانند هر طور که دلشان خواست میان مردم تفرقه و نفاق ایجاد کرده و از همه مهم‌تر با زبان زور با ملت بزرگ ایران سخن بگویند.
پیرو بخشنامه اخیر وزارت ورزش مبنی بر اینکه «باقوت به زندگی خود ادامه دهید و اردوها را آغاز کنید»، با هماهنگی که با رئیس فدراسیون اسکیت و روسای هیئت‌های استانی سراسر کشور انجام داده‌ایم برای حضور پرقدرت در مسابقات برون‌مرزی به‌ویژه قهرمانی آسیا و بازی‌های جهانی «چنگدو» که از اهمیت به سزایی برخوردار است آماده می‌شویم. ورزشکاران ما در داخل اردوها حضور دارند تا به آمادگی صددرصدی دست پیدا کنند. متأسفانه بروز اتفاقات اخیر منجر شد تا تیم رولبال جوانان از اعزام به رقابت‌های جهانی کنیا بازبماند. امیدوارم در ادامه مسیر شاهد طلوعی دوباره برای مردم ایران و جامعه ورزش باشیم.
