The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it had killed a senior Hamas commander in an airstrike. The commander led the October 7 attack on towns bordering the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the army said, "An Israeli military aircraft killed Ali al-Qadi, a company commander in Hamas's elite force," without specifying the location or time of the strike. According to the army, al-Qadi led "a terrorist attack on Israeli towns... last weekend." In response, a Hamas official said, "No comment," adding that "any new developments will be announced in official Hamas statements." According to a Hamas official who requested anonymity, al-Qadi is a resident of Ramallah and was deported to the Gaza Strip along with other released prisoners as part of the prisoner exchange deal for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Al-Qadi was among more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners released by Israel in 2011 in exchange for Shalit, whom Hamas had captured in 2006. The official noted that al-Qadi was a field commander in the elite Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamist movement. Earlier today, the Israeli military announced that it had killed Murad Abu Murad, the commander of Hamas's air unit, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military stated that Abu Murad played a key role in directing terrorists during the massacre last Saturday, which involved attackers infiltrating Israel from the air in paragliders, according to The Times of Israel. On October 7, Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, during which its fighters infiltrated Israeli territory by sea in boats, by land by breaching sections of the barbed wire fence, and by air in paragliders, while simultaneously launching thousands of rockets into Israel. The attack targeted Israel. They entered military sites and residential areas, killing some and capturing others. For a week, the Israeli army has been responding with heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip, after tightening its blockade by cutting off water, electricity, and food supplies. More than 1,300 people have been killed in Israel since the start of the offensive, most of them civilians, including 258 soldiers, according to the latest army figures. The number of wounded has reached more than 3,200, and Hamas has taken approximately 150 hostages, including 120 civilians. The death toll in the Gaza Strip from Israeli bombardment has risen to 2,215, including 724 children, according to the latest figures released by the Hamas-run Ministry of Health on Saturday morning.

أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي، السبت، أنه قتل في غارة جوية قياديًا في حركة حماس الإسلامية قاد هجوم السابع من أكتوبر على البلدات الحدودية مع قطاع غزة. وقال الجيش، في بيان، إن “طائرة عسكرية إسرائيلية قتلت علي القاضي، قائد سرية من قوة النخبة التابعة لحركة حماس” من دون تحديد موقع أو توقيت الغارة. وبحسب الجيش، قاد القاضي “هجوما إرهابيا على بلدات إسرائيلية … نهاية الأسبوع الماضي”. وردًا على ذلك، قال مسؤول في حركة حماس إن “لا تعقيب” و”أي جديد يصدر في البيانات الرسمية لحماس”. وبحسب مسؤول حماس الذي طلب عدم الكشف عن هويته، فإن القاضي من سكان رام الله وأبعد إلى قطاع غزة مع الأسرى المحررين” ضمن صفقة التبادل مع الجندي الإسرائيلي جلعاد شاليط. ومن ثم، فإن القاضي من بين أكثر من ألف أسير فلسطيني أطلقت إسرائيل سراحهم في العام 2011 مقابل إطلاق حماس سراح شاليط الذي أسرته في العام 2006. ونوّه المسؤول إلى أن القاضي “قيادي ميداني في قوة النخبة في كتائب القسام” الجناح العسكري للحركة الإسلامية. وقت وقت سابق صباح اليوم، أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي أنه قتل مراد أبو مراد، قائد الوحدة الجوية في حركة حماس، خلال هجوم جوي في قطاع غزة. وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي: “أبو مراد قام بدور كبير في توجيه الإرهابيين خلال المذبحة” التي وقعت يوم السبت الماضي، والتي تضمنت دخول مهاجمين إسرائيل من الجو على متن طائرات شراعية، بحسب صحيفة “تايمز أوف إسرائيل”. أطلقت حماس في السابع من أكتوبر عملية “طوفان الأقصى” التي توغّل خلالها مقاتلوها في مناطق إسرائيلية من البحر عبر زوارق، ومن البر عبر اختراق أجزاء من السياج الحدودي الشائك، ومن الجو عبر طائرات شراعية، بالتزامن مع إطلاق آلاف الصواريخ في اتجاه إسرائيل. ودخلوا مواقع عسكرية وتجمعات سكنية وقتلوا أشخاصا وأسروا آخرين. ويرد الجيش الإسرائيلي منذ أسبوع بقصف مكثف على قطاع غزة، بعد أن شدّد الحصار على القطاع عبر قطع المياه والكهرباء وإمدادات الغذاء. وقتل أكثر من 1300 شخص في إسرائيل، معظمهم مدنيون، منذ بدء الهجوم، وبينهم 258 جنديًا، وفق آخر حصيلة للجيش، ووصل عدد الجرحى إلى أكثر من 3200، وبلغ عدد الرهائن الذين أسرتهم حركة حماس حوالي 150، بينهم 120 “مدنيون”. وارتفعت حصيلة القتلى في قطاع غزة نتيجة القصف الإسرائيلي إلى 2215، بينهم 724 طفلا، وفق آخر حصيلة أعلنتها وزارة الصحة التابعة لحركة حماس صباح اليوم السبت.
