It was so bad—so unbearably bad. Everything we had, everything we built in our lives, was taken from us. Only God knows what we are going through. Only God.
The night before, I had asked him, “Did you cut your nails?” I looked—his nails were uneven. I said, “Did you bite them?” He said, “No, Mommy, I cut them myself.”
For three days after that Saturday, every morning and night, groups of people went out searching—looking for the missing, but finding nothing. I said, “I have to go myself. I can’t just sit here. My child is waiting for me.”
