The tefillin of Michael (Miki) Nahum, a 61-year-old father of four who was killed when an Iranian missile struck his apartment building last week, have been located and returned to his daughters(photo credit: Courtesy)ByJERUSALEM POST STAFFJUNE 27, 2025 13:04Updated: JUNE 28, 2025 20:28The tefillin of Michael (Miki) Nahum, a 61-year-old father of four who was killed when an Iranian missile struck his apartment building in Bat Yam last week, have been located and returned to his daughters, Mayor Tzvika Brot has announced.Brot said that he spoke to Nahum’s daughters to personally let them know that the tefillin were found in good condition.“There are some small tears on the bag, but the tefillin are whole,” he said. “They will be able to bring strength to the daughters in their unimaginably difficult time.”Brot thanked the men and women of the Home Front Command’s national rescue unit, “who are doing everything they can to rescue whatever is possible from the ruins and to honor the memory of the victims.”Thousands injured, 28 killed in Operation Rising LionThe Israeli healthcare system reported that 3,343 people were hospitalized from the start of Operation Rising Lion on June 13 until the ceasefire was declared on Tuesday. Seventeen local authorities were forced to evacuate the local populations due to direct impacts on homes.The Health Ministry deployed approximately 80 medical staff to make daily visits to the absorption sites to identify health needs.
