Raqqa Governorate: In recent hours, US forces conducted a precise security operation in the village of al-Mashtaha, near the town of Maadan in eastern Raqqa countryside, targeting Abdul Karim Mahmoud al-Ahmad, an operative with the Islamic State.

The operation followed close surveillance of al-Ahmad's movements in the area. Forces established a tight security cordon, supported by intensive air cover. His fate remains unconfirmed; it is unknown whether he was killed or captured.

According to reports, Abdul Karim Mahmoud al-Ahmad worked at a bakery in al-Mashtaha, using his job as a cover for his activities and movements. This was part of the organization's efforts to reactivate its cells in the area. He had previously been arrested by security forces.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to track down Islamic State cells and enhance security and stability in eastern Raqqa countryside.

وجاءت العملية بعد رصد ومتابعة دقيقة لتحركات المستهدف في المنطقة، حيث فرضت القوات طوقًا أمنيًا محكمًا مدعومًا بغطاء جوي مكثف، وسط معلومات غير مؤكدة عن مصيره، إذ لا يُعرف ما إذا كان قد قُتل أم تم اعتقاله.
وبحسب المعلومات، كان عبد الكريم محمود الأحمد يعمل في فرن بقرية المسطاحة، مستخدمًا عمله كغطاء لنشاطه وتحركاته، في إطار محاولات التنظيم إعادة تفعيل خلاياه في المنطقة، كما سبق أن تعرّض للاعتقال من قبل الجهات الأمنية.
وتأتي هذه العملية ضمن الجهود المستمرة لتعقب خلايا تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في ريف الرقة الشرقي.
