Raqqa Governorate: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the death of one ISIS cell member and the injury of another, in addition to a woman and a minor approximately 14 years old, during an airborne operation carried out by the International Coalition forces, accompanied by ground forces, in the town of Maadan (areas controlled by the Syrian Interim Government). The forces entered the town from areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

According to the sources, a heavy exchange of fire took place during the raid on the home of a wanted individual between ISIS cell members and the International Coalition forces. This resulted in the death of one ISIS cell member and the injury and arrest of another, as well as the death of a woman believed to be the wife of the wanted individual. The minor, approximately 14 years old, was killed by a stray bullet.

The sources confirmed that the Syrian Interior Ministry's Public Security forces did not participate directly in the operation and limited their role to securing and protecting the perimeter of the airborne area.

محافظة الرقة: أكدت مصادر المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان مقتل عنصر من خلايا تنظيم “الدولة الإسلامية” وإصابة آخر، إضافة إلى امرأة وقاصر يبلغ من العمر نحو 14 عامًا، خلال عملية إنزال جوي نفذتها قوات التحالف الدولي، يرافقها قوة برية، في بلدة معدان “مناطق سيطرة الحكومة السورية المؤقتة”، بعد دخول القوة من مناطق سيطرة قوات سوريا الديمقراطية.
ووفقًا للمصادر، جرى تبادل لإطلاق نار كثيف خلال عملية اقتحام منزل أحد المطلوبين، بين عناصر من خلايا التنظيم وقوات التحالف الدولي، ما أدى إلى مقتل عنصر من خلايا التنظيم وإصابة آخر تم اعتقاله، إضافة إلى مقتل امرأة يُعتقد أنها زوجة المطلوب، فيما قُتل القاصر البالغ نحو 14 عامًا جراء إصابته برصاص طائش.
وأكدت المصادر أن قوات الأمن العام التابعة لوزارة الداخلية السورية لم تشارك بشكل مباشر في العملية، واكتفت بتأمين وحماية محيط منطقة الإنزال.
