KOMPAS.TV - Three of the four Indonesian crew members are missing after the United Arab Emirates-flagged tugboat Mussafah 2 exploded and sank in the Strait of Hormuz, between the waters of the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

One of the crew members managed to make a video call before being declared missing.

The tugboat's captain, Miswar Paturusi, a resident of Luwu, South Sulawesi, set sail last Thursday.

Before departing for the waters surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, Captain Miswar said goodbye to his wife, Marliani Ahmad, in Luwu via video call.

In the conversation, Miswar stated that he would sail to pick up the damaged ship.

Another Indonesian crew member of the Musaffah 2 whose whereabouts are also unknown is the ship's mechanical technician, Sirajuddin, a resident of Luwu, South Sulawesi.
