Bahrain's Interior Ministry announced on Sunday that three people were injured in an "Iranian aggression" targeting a university in the northern city of Muharraq.

The ministry said in a statement: "As a result of the blatant Iranian aggression, three people were injured and material damage was inflicted on a university building in the Muharraq area after missile fragments fell."

In a separate statement, the ministry added: "The Iranian aggression is indiscriminately targeting civilian sites and causing material damage to a desalination plant following a drone attack," without specifying the location.

This comes despite an apology from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday to neighboring countries, in which he indicated in a televised address that Iran would cease targeting them unless attacks against his country were launched from their territory.

On Sunday morning, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE announced that they had been subjected to missile and drone attacks, as the US-Israeli war on Iran entered its ninth day.

وقالت الوزارة في بيان: "‏جراء العدوان الإيراني السافر، إصابة 3 أشخاص وأضرار مادية بمبنى إحدى الجامعات بمنطقة المحرق، إثر سقوط شظايا صاروخ".

وأضافت في بيان منفصل: "العدوان الإيراني يقصف وبشكل عشوائي أهدافا مدنية، ويلحق أضراراً مادية بمحطة لتحلية المياه، إثر هجوم بطائرة مسيرة"، دون تحديد المكان.

يأتي ذلك على الرغم من اعتذار من الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان، السبت، لدول الجوار، مشيراً في خطاب متلفز، إلى وقف استهدافها ما لم تنطلق منها هجمات ضد بلاده.

وصباح الأحد، أعلنت كل من البحرين والكويت والسعودية والإمارات، تعرضها لهجمات بصواريخ وطائرات مسيرة، مع دخول الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية على إيران يومها التاسع.
