While participating in the meeting of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri, and attended by representatives of international organizations and ambassadors from several countries at the Government Palace, which was dedicated to presenting and documenting Israeli attacks on civilians, medical personnel, and journalists, I received with profound sorrow the news of the martyrdom of photographer and paramedic Ahmad Hariri and his colleague, paramedic Ali Ghassani, in Deir Qanoun al-Nahr.

I condemn in the strongest terms this repeated Israeli aggression, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians and those working in the health and media sectors.

This tragic development reaffirms the extent of the documented violations, which Lebanon will continue to present to the international community, particularly to the mission of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, which is expected to arrive in Beirut, as part of its efforts to bolster Lebanon's position in international forums.

May God have mercy on the martyrs, and grant patience to their families and colleagues.

بينما كنت أشارك في اجتماع اللجنة الوطنية للقانون الدولي الإنساني المنعقد برئاسة نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء د. طارق متري، وبحضور ممثلي المنظمات الدولية وسفراء عدد من الدول في السراي الحكومي، والمخصّص لعرض وتوثيق الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على المدنيين والطواقم الصحية والصحافية، تبلّغت ببالغ الأسى نبأ استشهاد المصوّر والمسعف أحمد حريري وزميله المسعف علي غساني في دير قانون النهر.

إنني أدين بأشدّ العبارات هذا الاعتداء الإسرائيلي المتكرر، الذي يشكّل انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الدولي الإنساني ولحماية المدنيين والعاملين في المجالين الصحي والإعلامي.

وقد أتى هذا التطور المأساوي ليؤكد مجددًا حجم الانتهاكات الموثّقة، والتي سيواصل لبنان عرضها أمام المجتمع الدولي، ولا سيما أمام بعثة المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان المرتقب وصولها إلى بيروت، في إطار دعم موقف لبنان في المحافل الدولية.
