Violent Israeli Airstrikes Target Al-Jawf, Killing Central Bank Branch Director

On Wednesday, Al-Jawf Governorate witnessed Israeli airstrikes targeting sensitive Houthi sites in the city of Al-Hazm, resulting in one civilian death and several injuries, in addition to extensive damage to government and civilian buildings.

Local sources confirmed that the airstrikes targeted the Central Bank building, killing the branch manager, Niaz Muhammad Hazam Hawash Al-Zubairi, and wounding several employees. The government complex and the Civil Status building were also damaged by the explosions.

The sources explained that the explosions led to the collapse of parts of the buildings and damage to internal offices, amidst a state of panic among the civilian population. Rescue teams continue their work at the site, searching for potential victims under the rubble, while no final statistics have been released regarding the extent of human and material losses.

These airstrikes are among the most violent to have hit Al-Hazm since the beginning of the Israeli escalation in Yemen. They have targeted civilian, government, and sensitive Houthi sites, reflecting a new escalation in the nature of targeting in the region.

شهدت محافظة الجوف، اليوم الأربعاء، غارات جوية إسرائيلية استهدفت مواقع حساسة للحوثيين في مدينة الحزم، أسفرت عن سقوط قتيل مدني وعدد من الجرحى، إضافة إلى أضرار واسعة في المباني الحكومية والمدنية.

وأكدت مصادر محلية أن الغارات استهدفت مبنى البنك المركزي، ما أسفر عن مقتل مدير الفرع نياز محمد حزام هواش الزبيري، وإصابة عدة موظفين. كما تضرر المجمع الحكومي ومبنى الأحوال المدنية جراء الانفجارات.

وأوضحت المصادر أن الانفجارات أدت إلى انهيار أجزاء من المباني وتضرر المكاتب الداخلية، وسط حالة من الهلع بين السكان المدنيين. وتواصل فرق الإنقاذ أعمالها في الموقع بحثًا عن ضحايا محتملين تحت الأنقاض، في وقت لم تصدر فيه أي إحصائية نهائية حول حجم الخسائر البشرية والمادية.

وتعد هذه الغارات من الأعنف التي تشهدها مدينة الحزم منذ بداية التصعيد الإسرائيلي في اليمن، حيث طالت مواقع مدنية وحكومية وحساسة تابعة للحوثيين، مما يعكس تصعيدًا جديدًا في طبيعة الاستهداف في المنطقة.
