Airwars assessment
Shortly before 12:23 AM on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, at least eight civilians were reportedly killed and a number of civilians were injured in the bombardment of a residential house of the Atim/Atem family located near the Sunniyya roundabout and Shabir bakery in the centre of Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip.
According to Safa PS, the bombing resulted in the death and injury of civilians. Media and News company KhanYunis City, on their Facebook page, reported that more than eight people died in the bombing. In addition to their post, they shared photos documenting the damage caused to the building and the rescue efforts to save those injured. The identities of the victims are unknown.
Maher al-hijazi’s post identified the location of the strike as “near Al-Suniya roundabout, Shabir bakery in the centre of Khan Yunis.”
None of the sources attributed the attack to any specific belligerent, therefore, Airwars classified Strike Status as Contested until more information comes to light.
The incident occured at approximately 12:00 am local time.
