Airwars assessment
Two displaced people were wounded in the chest and abdomen when Israeli forces allegedly fired bullets in front of the Al-Quds Hospital in the Tal Al-Hawa neighbourhood, located west of Gaza City.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the two people injured by the gunshots were a child and a young man. It said the shots resulted in “critical injury” to the child and man in “the chest and abdomen.” No further identifying characteristics of those injured were made publicly available.
On Facebook, the Red Crescent Society also stated that several bullets were shot from a distance of around 1 kilometre by an Israeli military vehicle. These shots allegedly also impacted the sixth floor of the hospital, severely damaging one of the water tanks and the central air conditioning unit of the hospital. A photograph shared by Twitter/X user @nezar_same26503 purported to show the hole one of the bullets left in a wall. Another similar photograph, showing bullet damage to a wall, was shared by the Red Crescent Society on their Facebook page.
The alleged operation caused widespread anxiety throughout the civilian population, many of whom were displaced at the hospital, so “the ambulance team decided to conduct entertainment activities and simple games, to alleviate the children’s fear and panic.”
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
