On Tuesday, 24 September 2024, at least one civilian was reported killed and another missing after reported Israeli airstrikes on al-Jumaijmeh town in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon. The strike was also alleged to have caused “a number” of injuries.
Eighteen-year-old Saleh Mahdi Zain al-Din and Syrian national Mohammad Faysal al-Hamid were both reported missing following alleged Israeli airstrikes on al-Jumaijmeh town. Multiple sources reported the missing pair, sharing Saleh’s father’s mobile number and urging people to get in contact should they have any information.
The following day, 25 September 2024, a Facebook post from Asim Hani Hamza reported that Saleh Mahdi Zain al-Din’s body had been identified by his family in the Tebnin Governmental Hospital northeast of al-Jumaijmeh. The post reported that his body was found in the hospital and confirmed to be his by his family.
Multiple sources reported civilian injuries in the aftermath of alleged Israeli airstrikes on al-Jumaijmeh. It is not clear from publicl reports whether Mohammad was found or whether he was killed or injured.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli Military.
