Last Updated: January 12, 2026

Shortly before midday on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, an alleged Israeli airstrike hit the town of Srifa, in the Tyre district, South Governorate of Lebanon, injuring at least three paramedics – members of the Srifa Ambulance Committee and the Burial Committee. In addition, an ambulance and another vehicle transporting a deceased body were completely destroyed, along with significant damage to the committee’s equipment.

The injured men were identified as the head of the committee, Al-Hajj Ahmed Najdi Abu al-Nasr, and the paramedics, Ali Jaafar Najdi and Hadi Muhammad Saeed. The post by Risalah Srifa on Facebook stated that five rather than three paramedics, who were heading to Nazlat Al-Ain were injured, but their injuries were minor.

According to Abed al-Hassan Ahmed and the Burial Committee for Human Services/Srifa, the day before the incident, a call was received about the need to evacuate the Srifa Health Center, where the youth of the Dead Burial Committee and the ambulance teams were present. Thus, the center was evacuated, and the paramedics moved to a secure place. However, this was not enough to prevent them from being hit.

Twitter/X account @qudsfeed_brk reported the incident at 12:06 p.m., marking the information as urgent. The account @Step_Agency reported the violent airstrikes on the town of Srifa at 11:15 a.m., sharing an image where a huge cloud of grey smoke is seen rising above the town, which was reposted by many sources.

The incident was also widely reported by many local and regional news networks including elnashra.com, mtv.com.lb, nna-leb.gov.lb, as for many social media pages like @Qudsn_Brk, @Palcampnews, @qudsfeed_brk, which reported the words of the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health confirming the raid, adding that it was part of a broader wave of airstrikes across the entire Tyre district. In fact, the medical team was injured while assisting in the evacuation of those wounded in earlier attacks, wrote Risalah Srifa on Facebook, which can qualify this strike as a “double-tap strike.”

Many pictures of the aftermath of the airstrikes circulated online showing the destroyed ambulance and vehicle, surrounded by dust, rubble and flames. Other images captured the three paramedics at the hospital after receiving medical care as they exited the facility. They can be seen covered in dust but smiling despite the minor injuries suffered. Indeed, they have bandages on their arms and legs. One of them, apparently the youngest, is in a wheelchair, possibly due to a broken leg.

“Thankfully, they received the required medical care and are now in good condition,” Resala Center for Civil Defense-Srifa wished them a speedy recovery and their immediate return to their humanitarian duties.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
