Shortly before 9:31 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, an alleged Israeli drone strike struck the town of Kfarchouba in the Nabatiye area of southern Lebanon, killing three young men, including two brothers, and injuring the brothers’ father.
Twittter/X user @ShababFM1014 reported the drone strike at 9:31 a.m. @NewsDeskroom corroborated this information, reporting on injuries. The Echo of Dahieh Telegram page reported at 9:38 a.m. that the airstrike hit a moving vehicle in which the passengers were riding at the northern entrance of the town of Kfarchouba. Later, at 10:25, it updated the information, informing about the death of three civilians. Those killed in the strikes were Ali Fadi al-Aqaba and Muhammad Fadi al-Aqaba, who were brothers, and Muhammad Karami Abdel Aal. The father of the two boys, Fadi al-Aqaba, was injured in the strike. Photos shared of the victims showed they were all young men, likely in their late teens or early twenties, each with brown hair.
According to the Facebook post by Nidal Issa, the young men were bringing water to the herd of goats while they were being killed.
An obituary post by Houssam Soueid on Facebook reads: “They were companions in this world, rather than brothers, not even death separated them, and here they are departing together as martyrs to the abode of eternity, so congratulations to them.”
Prayers and a funeral were held for them as they were buried in Kfarchouba. Bombings continued during the funeral proceedings, preventing many people from attending as also noted in the obituary.
Where sources named a belligerent, all sources claimed the Israeli military was responsible.
