Six to ten civilians were killed – and several others injured – in alleged Russian airstrikes on the popular market in the city of Tadif in the Aleppo governorate of Syria, on January 13, 2016, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights and others.
The Network initially reported that five non-combatants died, but a second report put the figure at six.
Syria Newsdesk said the event featured a so-called “double tap” strike: “According to activist Abu al-Halabi, the Russian air force targeted a popular market in the city of Tadif under the control of the Islamic State, which led to a dozen civilians dead and injured who were taken to field hospitals. Halabi confirmed that Russian warplanes targeted civilians and ambulance crews who had gathered to rescue the victims of the first raid. A second raid caused the occurrence of more victims, as he put it.”
