One civilian died in Talbisah while trying to defuse a Russian cluster bomb, according to multiple sources. Other reports said that both Russian strikes and regime artillery shelling killed a number of other civilians, though didn’t specify numbers.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, Houssien Abdul Kareem Al Deheik, a 38-year-old trainer in the cluster munitions and landmines dismantling team in Homs, died “on 18 March 2016 due to a cluster munitions explosion that occurred due to alleged Russian shelling with cluster munitions on Talbisa city in Homs“. He was married with four children.
Other sources reported that there were also regime actions in Talbisha on this day. According to Baladi, one civilian died and three children were wounded by “regime artillery”. However, it also reported the death of Houssein Abdul Kareen Al Deheik as he was trying to defuse a Russian cluster bomb.
According to Chamtime, “Russian warplane shelling and regime artillery shelling in Talbiseh, Homs left a number of dead and wounded – the majority are children.”
