Around noon on Saturday, the 14th June 2025, two factory employees were killed, and at least 33 employees were injured in an alleged attack by the Israeli military in Oshtorinan, Boroujerd. The incident occurred at the Farda Motor Automobile Factory (also called Zagros Factory) in the Lorestan province in the western Iran.
According to Tasnim News, six missiles were fired at the factory, which is one of the largest automobile manufacturing units in Lorestan, causing severe human loss. Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi, the governor of Lorestan, confirmed the incident in a statement where he also said: “Every free person will realise the depth of the crime and lies of the Zionist regime by visiting this complex.”
The two civilian men, both employees of the factory, killed were: Iman Goodarzi (30 years old), a resident of Borujerd, and Hossein Nadqi (39 years old), from Ashtrinan, Borujerd.
According to a report by Sanat Masin, 33 factory employees were injured. The injured, who were provided immediate treatment, were taken to the Borujerd hospital. Reports by Sanat Masin and Tasmin News stated that some of them were in critical condition, thus indicating a possible increase in the number of deaths.
The attack has, reportedly, also caused extensive economic damage, causing widespread fires and extensive damage to production lines, finished parts, and manufactured vehicles. The factory was a source of livelihood for the families, particularly women and children who are family members of the individuals who were injured and/or killed during the strike. Pictures and videos depicting the incident and its aftermath have been posted by ManotoNews and Radio Farda ON X, formerly known as Twitter. A video shared by Radio Farda shows huge clouds of black smoke billowing in the skies over the factory.
As stated by Fatemah Maghsoudi, despite the massive destruction caused by this attack, the will of the people of Borojoured has been “strengthened… to renovate the factory”. With government support, the managers of the factory have begun initiatives to rebuild what has allegedly been destroyed by Israeli forces.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
