On Monday, 10 March 2025, a Turkish drone allegedly struck the village of Karaf (also referred to as Jarraf), in the Sarrin area south of Kobani in the Aleppo countryside of Syria, killing one child and injuring two brothers, both minors.
Multiple local outlets, including Hawar News, ANF, Ronahi TV, SOHR, VDC, and Jinha Agency, reported that a Turkish occupation drone allegedly bombed the village, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Fawaz Mustafa Ibrahim and the injury of Abdul Nafi Muhammad Musto (9) and Abdul Rahim Muhammad Musto (13). All three were children. The injured brothers were transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to SOHR, the strike formed part of a wider escalation by Turkish drones across northern Syria, with parallel shelling reported on the nearby village of Bir Hasso (Beir Hasso) in the vicinity of Qarah Qozak Bridge. VDC confirmed that heavy artillery fire in Bir Hasso, attributed to Turkish-backed National Army forces, caused panic among civilians.
Images circulated by Hawar News and Jinha Agency showed extensive damage to a residential area in Karaf, and the images of the slain child, Fawaz, as well as of the two injured brothers being treated in a hospital, were shared widely on Kurdish and local Facebook pages.
Where sources identified the perpetrator, all attributed responsibility to the Turkish military.
