A 24-year-old man, Fadi Mohammad Suleiman Barakah, was killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike east of Khan Younis on 14 June 2025.
Friends devoted multiple paragraphs to him on social media, writing that though Fadi’s “spirit soars in heaven,” he would “live on in our hearts.” Abu Abdullah Muhammad admitted “profound sorrow and grief” and sent a message of support to Fadi’s surviving brother. Qusay Abu Saada viewed Fadi’s death through a religious lens, believing that he had “attained the honour of martyrdom […] which is only granted to those whom God has chosen.”
Many friends included photographs of Fadi with their memorials – bearded, Fadi is often seen smiling. He was originally from Rafah.
Fadi’s name was matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza, first appearing in the tenth publication, released 16 July 2025.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all pointed to the Israeli military.
