During the afternoon of June 15, 2025, an alleged Israeli drone strike hit a residential area in the Pars neighbourhood of east Tehran, Iran, killing Hadis Fakhari and her eight-year-old daughter, Sarvin Hamidian, and critically injuring Hadis’s husband in their home.
According to reports by Aparat, Nik Salehi, Al Arabiya Farsi, yaghma_fashkham, IRNA, among others, the harm to the family was the result of Israeli missile attacks on the neighbourhood. Tabnak and Fars News Agency, reported that the explosion was caused when debris from a drone, reportedly intercepted or destroyed in the air, fell onto residential buildings in Pars.
Hadis Fakhari’s husband, whose first name was not reported but whose surname is Hamidian based on their child’s surname, was reportedly thrown from the building by the force of the blast. He was described as being in critical condition – specifically a coma – following the incident. Reports indicated that Sarvin was on the fifth floor of the building when the explosion occurred, and that it took several days to recover her body from the rubble.
Multiple sources described Hadis Fakhari as an employee and human resources expert at the Social Security Organization in West Tehran. The organization’s public relations office issued a condolence message to her family, colleagues, and the Iranian public. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) also reported that she was the sister of Saeed Fakhari, described as a commander killed during the Iran-Iraq War in 1985, as well as a relative of the former governor of Tehran, Reza Fakhari. Meanwhile, her daughter Sarvin was a third-grade student at the Shahid Beheshti Elementary School. A later report commemorated young Sarvin as “beautiful and kind” and noted that her name, Sarvin, means “like a cypress.”
Tabnak posted an image of Hadis with her daughter, both happily smiling at the camera. Hadis was wearing a light-blue dress and a dark blue headscarf, while her daughter was wearing a black hoodie.
On Facebook, Al Arabiya Farsi posted a video reportedly showing the powerful explosions shaking the Pars neighborhood of Tehran, where huge clouds of white smoke can be seen on the horizon.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
