On Monday, November 7, 2016, 14 civilians, including women and children, were reportedly killed by alleged US-led Coalition strikes on a house in the populated Al-Salam neighborhood in southeast Mosul, according to local sources.
Iraqi Transmission Network (IBN) reported the deaths of 14 civilians who were “mistakenly” hit in a Coalition raid in southeast Mosul. However, the Coalition later denied responsibility.
IBN cited a medical source who said the dead included women and children. Iraqi Spring Media Center and al Jazeera also reported the deaths of 14 civilians.
The New Arab added that 9 civilians were wounded and that the incident took place between 5 pm and 8 pm in the evening. The New Arab also reported that the killed victims were transferred to a forensic facility and injured victims were taken of Ninevah Hospital for treatment.
The New Arab quoted describing the scale of bombardment on the area and addressing this incident saying “…we do not know when this nightmare ends” and “the residents of Nineveh are living in a state of anxiety and fear”.
A Coalition report issued January 2nd 21017 noted: Nov. 7, 2016, near Mosul, Iraq: After a review of available information and strike video it was assessed that no civilians were harmed in this strike.
