On Saturday night, the eighth night of the war, at around 10:30, from a distance in the northwestern part of Tehran, the fire and yellow and red flames of the Shahran oil depot were in front of my eyes. The night before, I had witnessed the burning of Mehrabad Airport from there, just before one in the morning, and now time was moving forward so that I could witness the explosions up close and experience the tremors of the earth and time again in my eyes, ears, and mind. I reached the balcony and from there I could see some people quickly jumping out of buildings and getting into cars. Some were leaving the place or stopping there to see how the situation was going. It seemed to me that they were better prepared than they were during the Twelve-Day War, when they were surprised by the explosion at the Shahran oil depot and were inexperienced in facing it. They did not wander as they did then, for example, they did not go to the scene of the fire. The same people who were wandering around the streets and alleys on that hot night in June were calmer now. I was talking from the balcony about how much staying calm could prevent the damage of the accident or the damage that followed. When I turned my head, black and dirty giants were splashing into the sky from the oil depot. Tehran was no longer the same city it was before the war, with smoke and fire coming out of every corner. An hour later, the fire brigade took control of the fire, and apparently the initial crisis was gone, so some people returned to their homes. The night was terrifying, and at 8 am, several people calling from different parts of Tehran were talking about the dark air in the city. From the balcony overlooking the city, I looked at the city and it was completely covered in smoke. The gray and black layer of smoke could be easily seen from this distance and from the northwest point of the city. It had started to rain, and one of my colleagues was saying on the phone; the raindrops that hit the gutters bring the sadness of the world with them. He was right; Tehran was a city that spent a night like a day and a day like a night, at least like a rainy sunset, following the explosions, and it was still unclear how many breaths had been lost that night due to these explosions. On Shahran Street, however, the situation is much worse. A tanker truck has been completely burned out, and as a passerby standing there said: “It’s no longer a tanker, it’s pure coal.” Behind it is a completely burned-out Pride. صدا و موج انفجار آسیب دیده است و هیچ کاری برای آن نمی‌شود کرد، شاید خود به خود خوب شود و شاید هم نه. بعد با تاسف و بی‌حوصلگی ادامه داد که بعد از جنگ دوازده روزه خیلی‌ها این مشکل را پیدا کرده‌اند. شنبه شب حدود ساعت ۱۱ درحالی که سعی می‌کردم انفجارهای پی در پی و آتش‌سوزان انبار نفت در جنوب تهران را از آن‌جایی که ایستاده بودم ثبت کنم، زمین و زمان به‌هم دوخته شد و دوباره آن نور زرد غلیظ را دیدم که چطور به چشم‌هایم هجوم می‌آورد. همزمان صدای غرش سهمگینی در سر و اندامم پیچید. اینها البته واژه است؛ آدم چگونه می‌تواند صدای انفجار و پخش شدن آن در هوا را به تصویر بکشد وقتی آسمان و زمین در یک لحظه، آتش‌باران است. خودم را انداختم روی زمین و شنیدم که چطور دو انفجار دیگر مانند دو ضربه چکش یا پتک به روحم یا بهتر بگویم انگار به جمجمه‌ام کوبیده شد. همان زمان صدای سوت ممتدی که حواسم از آن پرت شده بود هم دوباره به گوش‌هایم برگشت. می‌گویند؛ در لحظه باید تصمیم بگیری اما در آن لحظه سرگردان میان در و دیوار به گوشی‌ام پناه بردم، آه نه! مثل جنگ دوازده روزه و روزهای دی ماه و مانند همه شهروندان، اینترنت نداشتم و فقط می‌توانستم به اینترنت داخلی یا ملی دسترسی داشته باشم، بنابراین از اخبار لحظه به لحظه در شبکه‌های اجتماعی غالب، خبری نبود. دویدم تا برای خروج آماده شوم همزمان با خود می‌گفتم؛ آیا خطری من را تهدید می‌کند؟ خودم را به بالکن رساندم و از آنجا می‌دیدم که برخی مردم با سرعت از ساختمان‌ها بیرون می‌جهند و سوار ماشین می‌شوند. برخی از محل می‌رفتند یا همان‌جا متوقف می‌ماندند تا ببینند اوضاع چطور پیش می‌رود. به نظرم آمد نسبت به جنگ دوازده روزه که با انفجار در انبار نفت شهران غافلگیر شده بودند و در مواجهه با آن بی‌تجربه بودند، آماده‌ترند. سرگردانی که آن زمان بود را نداشتند مثلا به سمت محل آتش‌سوزی نمی‌رفتند، همان‌ها که در آن شب گرم خرداد ماه، در کوچه و خیابان دور خود می‌چرخیدند، حالا آرام‌تر بودند. اینکه آرام بودن چقدر می‌تواند جلوی آسیب سانحه یا آسیب‌های بعد از آن را بگیرد بماند، داشتم از بالکن می‌گفتم. زمانی که سر برگرداندم غول‌های سیاه و کثیفی از سمت انبار نفت به آسمان پاشیده می‌شد، تهران دیگر آن شهر سر به راه شب‌های قبل از جنگ نبود و از هر گوشه‌اش دودی و آتشی بیرون می‌زد. سمت کوهک هم انبار نفت دیگری را موشک زده‌اند و دود آن هم در آسمان و هوای تهران پخش می‌شود. همین‌طور که رد دودها را نگاه می‌کنم دو ماشین با چراغ‌های چشمک‌زن آبی و قرمز از خیابان عبور می‌کنند و می‌گویند؛ تخلیه کنید، خانه‌ها را تخلیه کنید. وقت رفتن است بنابراین سریع محل را ترک می‌کنم. در کوچه و خیابان تقریبا همه رفته‌اند، البته چند نفری در خانه مانده‌اند و برخی نیز کنار بلوارند. هر از گاهی صدای انفجار می‌آید، شعله‌های آتش، گر می‌گیرند و روشنایی آن روی ساختمان‌های روبه‌رو می‌افتد.  آتش گسترده‌تر از دفعه قبل است و ظاهرا این‌بار دست‌کم آنچه در مخازن وجود داشته، بیشتر از بار قبلی بوده است و مدام صدای انفجار فرآورده‌های نفتی داخل مخازن در محل شنیده می‌شود. بخشی از بنزین و نفت در معابر و جوی‌های آب جاری شد بنابراین آتش به خیابان‌ها هم رسید. ساعتی بعد نیروهای آتش‌نشانی کنترل آتش را به دست گرفتند و ظاهرا دیگر از آن بحران اولیه خبری نبود، بنابراین برخی مردم دوباره به خانه‌های خود برگشتند. شب وحشت سر شد و ساعت ۸ صبح چند نفری که از مناطق مختلف تهران تماس می‌گرفتند از هوای تاریک شهر می‌گفتند. از بالکن مشرف به نمای تهران، شهر را نگاه کردم و آن را سراسر دود گرفته بود. لایه خاکستری و سیاه دود را به راحتی می‌شد از همین مسافت و نقطه شمال‌غرب شهر دید. باران آمده بود و یکی از همکارانم پشت گوشی تلفن می‌گفت؛ دانه‌های باران که به ناودان می‌خورد، غم عالم را با خود به همراه دارد. درست هم می‌گفت؛ تهران شهری بود که به دنبال انفجارها شبی را چون روز و روزی را چون شب و دست‌کم شبیه به غروب بارانی، سپری کرده است و هنوز معلوم نبود چند نفس در آن شب پای این انفجارها، خاموش شده‌اند. در ساعت‌های قبل، امریکا و اسراییل ۳ تا ۴ انبار نفت و یک پالایشگاه در تهران و یک انبار نفت در فردیس کرج را هدف حمله قرار دادند، بنابراین نه تنها زیرساخت‌های ایران که با این اقدام محیط‌زیست و هوای این شهر هم به‌شدت مورد تهدید قرار گرفت. حدود ساعت یک ظهر یکشنبه در غرب تهران هنوز هوا سیاه است، آتش هنوز هم زبانه می‌کشد منتها نه مانند ساعت‌های اولیه حمله. نکته عجیب اینکه با وجود مشهود بودن این آلودگی، خبرگزاری مهر ظهر روز یکشنبه به نقل از محمدصادق حسنوند، دکترای مهندسی بهداشت محیط و عضو هیات علمی دانشکده بهداشت و رییس مرکز تحقیقات آلودگی هوای دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران خبری با این مضمون منتشر کرده است: «براساس داده‌های ایستگاه‌های پایش کیفیت هوا در شهر تهران، شاخص کیفیت هوا در برخی مناطق به عدد ۱۶۵ رسیده که این وضعیت، ناشی از افزایش ذرات معلق کمتر از ۲.۵ میکرومتر است و تقریبا این وضعیت در حدود ۶۰ درصد از روزهای سال در تهران تجربه می‌شود.» این در حالی است که دود زیادی در آسمان دیده می‌شود و نه فقط در غرب تهران که در تمام نقاط تهران ماشین‌هایی که در معابر پارک بوده‌اند به شکل بی‌سابقه‌ای، سیاه و دودی شده‌اند. اغلب آدم‌های شهر سوختن چشم‌ها، سخت شدن تنفس و ناراحتی در گلو و برخی حالت تهوع را تجربه می‌کنند که دلیل آن دود شدن فرآورده‌های نفتی در هواست.  در یکی از معابر منتهی به انبار نفت شهران دو نفر در حال فیلم گرفتن از مخازنی هستند که در حال سوختن است. مردی شیشه‌های خرد شده ساختمان را با خاک‌انداز جمع کرده و داخل سطل زباله می‌ریزد و صدای آن برای لحظه‌ای حواس همان یکی، دو نفری که آنجا هستند را پرت می‌کند. صاحب مغازه‌ای که دقیقا روبه‌روی انبار نفت است هم شیشه‌های شکسته مغازه‌اش را نشانم می‌دهد و می‌گوید که ساعتی قبل از انفجار مغازه را بسته و رفته اما وقتی صدای انفجارها را شنیده به محل برگشته: «نمی‌گذاشتند جلو برویم چون آتش به بخشی از خیابان هم سرایت کرده و خطرناک بود.» صاحب سوپرمارکتی در حال جارو کردن کف مغازه است، ساکن این محله نیست و صبح که آمده دیده سقف مغازه ریخته و کلی از اجناس قفسه‌ها هم کف زمین است. در خیابان شهران اما شرایط به مراتب بدتر است، یک ماشین نفتکش به‌طور کامل سوخته و به قول عابری که آنجا ایستاده: «دیگر نفتکش نیست و زغال خالص است.» پشت آن هم یک پراید به‌طور کامل سوخته است. یکی از مردانی که همان‌جا کنار ماشین‌های جزغاله شده ایستاده با فیلم‌های داخل گوشی‌اش نشانم می‌دهد که چطور کل کف خیابان و جوی داخل آن در آتش بود: «من همین‌جا بودم که بمباران شد و خودم هم صدای آن را قبل از اصابت شنیدم. ساختمان‌هایی که جلوتر هستند دچار خسارت‌های زیادی شده‌اند و آن طرف در خیابان کوهسار هم چند ماشین در آتش سوخته.» مرد دیگری که ظاهرا خود نیز راننده ماشین نفتکش است با تعجب می‌گوید؛ من مانده‌ام چرا این‌بار مثل دفعه قبل تخیله نکرده بودند و همزمان نظر همکارش این است که انبار را تخلیه کرده بودند و حالا در واقع ته‌نشین فرآورده‌های نفتی است که در آنجا بوده و در حال سوختن است. چند نفری هم بر اثر این حمله موشکی زخمی شده‌اند و البته آن‌طور که یکی از رانندگان می‌گوید دو کارگر هم در نمازخانه آتش گرفته‌اند و از دنیا رفته‌اند: «هر دو نفرشان ظاهرا خواب بوده‌اند و خواب به خواب رفته‌اند بیچاره‌ها. البته شمار کشته‌های انبار نفت فردیس بیشتر است چون زمان حمله هوایی، آن‌ها در حال بارگیری بوده‌اند.» البته هنوز از آمار قطعی و تجمیعی کشته‌شدگان حمله‌های هوایی به انبارهای نفت خبری نیست منت‌ها قدرت‌الله سیف، معاون سیاسی استانداری البرز گفته است که بر اثر حمله به انبار نفت البرز ۶ شهید و ۲۱ نفر مجروح شده‌اند که برخی از آن‌ها شهروندان عادی و ساکنان مجاور انبار بوده‌اند.
