Between two and three civilians, including one woman and one child, were killed and up to six others were wounded by airstrikes fired on Urma Al Kubra town.
Russian warplanes were identified as responsible for the airstrikes by most local media sources, including Local Coordination Committees, @ShahbaPress and Syrian Network for Human Rights. However, Muslm News and Alsouria News blamed both Russian and regime planes while @AJA_Syria identified regime planes as launching airstrikes against the cities and towns of Aleppo.
The airstrikes were launched following a truce announced by Russia in the city of Aleppo.
According to reporter Abdul Razzaq Shakredi of the Syrian People’s Movement, Russian warplanes struck a popular Halal market and at the time of reporting. He also described how civil defence teams desperately attempted to rescue people from the rubble.
Photos published by Revolutionary Forces of Syria News showed the clouds of smoke covering the town following the airstrikes. Additional videos and photos posted by Thiqa Agency and showed the destruction to houses that were reduced to rubble and to the marketplace caused by the airstrikes. According to SN4HR the post office was also damaged in the raid.
