On March 1, 2026, one person may have been injured by shrapnel from an alleged Iranian missile in Petah Tikva, Central District, Israel.
Around midday on March 1, Al Jazeera reported “one person injured after shrapnel from an Iranian missile fell in the city of Petah Tikva, northeast of Tel Aviv.”
Twitter/X account @Gloz111, citing MDA volunteers, reported that “teams are conducting extensive searches at the scene, and it appears that there was only shrapnel damage.” Though property was reported damaged, “at this stage, no casualties have been found.” The account also shared two photos of damaged cars.
During the afternoon, Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, posted on Twitter/X that he had “arrived at the scene of the fall in Petah Tikva and subsequently held a working meeting at the Property Tax Headquarters at the Tax Authority, to ensure a quick and comprehensive response to residents whose homes were damaged.” He did not reference any casualties.
One available source identified a belligerent, attributing the falling shrapnel to the Iranian military.
