Four civilians were killed and up to five injured in an air or artillery strike on Jisir Al-Shoghour, according to local media sources – though it is unclear whether Russia or the Assad regime were responsible for the event.

Akhbar News, who put the death toll at four killed and five wounded, reported that “Russian aircraft targeted the city of Jisr Al-Shughur with a cluster bomb attack”. Other sources also indicated that Russia were responsible for the attack, including Idlib Media Centre, Smart News and Syrian Network for Human Rights.

It was clear that this attack was part of a wider campaign in Idlib by Russian and regime forces on this day. LCCSY reported that “while 10 martyrs were killed in Idlib, most of them were killed by the artillery shelling of the Assad forces and the aerial bombardment of Russian warplanes on the city of Jisr al-Shughour and its countryside.”

However, other sources attributed responsibility to Assad’s regime, such as Zamanalwsl News, who also placed the death toll at four.

Multiple sources named the four civilians who died in the attack.
