Up to four civilians, including one woman and two children, were killed and several were wounded following aerial and ground shelling of Sabikhan village, Deir Ezzor, local media reported, though sources were conflicted as to whether this was the work of Russia or the Assad regime.

Without identifying the culprit, Euphrates Post reported that Sabikhan had been subjected to “more than 15 airstrikes”. Meanwhile, other sources added that ground-launched missiles also had struck the village. Smart News noted “artillery shelling” and @olay6663 reported the use of “rocket launchers” on the village.

The highest number of fatalities was reported by Jsirtv who put the death toll at four civilians, including two children. Several sources reported the death of three civilians, one adult woman and two adult men, the latter two supposedly from the same family. Some sources only reported about one male victim, Fikri al-Muhaidi al-U’daili.

It should be noted that the Syrian Human Rights Committee said that Fikri al-Muhaidi al-U’daili only was left wounded, while several other sources reported his death.

Moreover, all sources reported that the incident took place on October 11th. However, one source, Syrian Human Rights Committee, reported that the three of the victims were killed on October 12th.

Finally, it is unclear among the reports who carried out the attack, as sources pointed to both Russia and the Syrian regime.
