At least two, but up to five, civilians were killed and several were wounded as Jisreen, eastern Ghouta, Damascus, was subject to aerial and artillery shelling, carried out by the Syrian regime, Russia or both, as reported by local media.

Zaman al-Wasl reported how several towns of eastern Ghouta, including Jisreen, were being struck by both airstrikes and artillery shelling for the third day in a row, mainly striking residential neighbourhoods.

In Jisreen, the death toll spanned from two to five, the highest reported by only one source, Step News Agency.

While no reports mentioned the exact number of wounded, Step News Agency reported that the shelling of eastern Ghouta, including Jisreen, overall wounded dozens.

Moreover, several reports, such as Ghouta Media Center (GMC), reported that a field hospital in Jisreen went out of service after being struck by “Russian air raids and explosive barrels delivered by helicopter flying over the region.”

However, it was unclear among the reports where to apportion blame. Some blamed the Syrian regime while GMC, as seen above, pointed to Russia, and finally, the Syrian Network for Human Rights identified both belligerents as responsible.
