Airwars assessment

Up to six civilians, including up to four children and one woman, were killed and dozens were left wounded as Ain Tarma, eastern Ghouta, Damascus, was struck by Syrian Regime and/or Russian-waged warplanes, local media reported.

As the intense shelling of several parts of eastern Ghouta continued, Ain Tarma was also struck, resulting in great civilian harm and destruction.

The death toll spanned from two to six, the lowest reported by HalabTodayTV and Step News Agency, and the highest reported by the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SN4HR) and SYR_REV_NEWS.

According to SYR_REV_NEWS and SN4HR’s initial reporting, two of the fatalities were children. However, SN4HR later amended its figures, reporting how four of the six victims were children and from the same family. The children were killed along with their mother, and were all identified by name.

Additionally, HalabTodayTV reported that “dozens” of civilians were left wounded, while Step News Agency merely reported about “others” as wounded.

Sources were not clear in terms of culpability, as blame was appointed to either the Syrian regime, Russia, or both across the reports. For example, SY-24 pointed to Assad-waged helicopters, while HalabTodayTV, Step News Agency blamed Russian warplanes.

Several reports, including SN4HR, blamed both belligerents.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
