Airwars assessment
Two children were killed in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the town of Al Ghariya Al Sharqiya in the suburbs of Dara’a on June 27th 2020, according to local sources.
@HalabTodayTV tweeted that there were “two martyrs and many wounded, by aerial bombardment, targeting the eastern town of Ghariya in Dara’a countryside.” @sayaf_kk wrote that a child and his sister were killed in the shelling of Russian warplanes.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that Russian and Syrian regime forces bombed Abu Bakr Al Saddiq mosque in the town, “partially damaging its building, and severely damaging its furniture, rendering it inoperable, on June 27, 2018.” It is unclear if this is the same site where the two children were killed.
Sources blamed both Russian forces and the Syrian regime for the airstrikes.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
