A civilian male was killed in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the city of Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib governorate, on July 23rd, 2019, according to local sources. In addition, the strikes reportedly led to the destruction of civilian homes and of “the last automated bakery in the city”
The Syrian Civil Defence in Idlib reported that “the city of Khan Sheikhoun was subjected to 15 airstrikes by warplanes, while helicopters dropped barrel bombs on residential neighbourhoods.” According to the SCD, the strikes caused “the death of a man, the destruction of the last automated bakery in the city, and a very large amount of damage to civilian homes.”
Shaam News Network also reported a killed civilian as the result of Russian airstrikes on the city.
While @baladinet work tweeted that regime forces bombed Khan Sheikhoun with rocket launchers, @jisirtv reported airstrikes by regime warplanes. @OrientNews, on the other side, tweeted that Russian warplanes targeted the city.
Syrian Civil Defence teams worked to inspect the targeted sites, conduct search and rescue operations and recover the body of the victim from the rubble.
