An undisclosed number of civilians were reported killed or injured in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on the town of Taftanaz, Idlib governorate, on February 3rd, 2020, according to SMART News.

SMART reported that there were “victims of the airstrikes from Russian warplanes on the town of Taftanaz”, but did not specify the number nor if the victims were killed or injured.

Sources alleged Russian aircraft carried out a series of raids on the town.

@so_ria98 said Russian warplanes struck near the town with four missiles leading to fires.

@WM_FREESYR said Russian aircraft targeted several locations on February 3rd including Atarib, Afes, Tal Al-Sultan and Taftanaz airport.

@Step_Agency said Russian warplanes bombarded Taftanaz as Syrian warplanes targeted Neirab in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

Vdcsy reported Syrian regime barrel bombs struck several areas in the countryside of Idlib including Taftanaz.

Shaam and Hosn said Russian and Syrian regime warplanes carried out dozens of air raids in cities and towns including Taftanaz.

The majority of the sources said Russia carried out the strikes.
