Airwars assessment
At least one civilian, a child, was killed and three others were wounded in alleged Turkish strikes on Kalota village on June 5, 2021.
A tweet from @RojavaIC reported that “a 13yo child, Zeynab Hussain Ibrahim Bento, died in Kalota village, Shehba, when her family house was hit by shells from Turkish-occupied Afrin.”
In addition to the girl that was killed, Bas News reported that “her brother and father were wounded” alongside her from the Turkish shelling. ASO network provided their names, “her brother “Bakr Hussein” and her father, “Hussein Ibrahim“. Alyaum TV also identified that “her mother was seriously injured” in the same strike.
All of the sources that reported on the incident attributed the strikes to Turkey.

Reports of the incident mention the village of Kalota (كالوتا), for which the generic coordinates are: 36.353676, 36.941201. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
