Airwars assessment
A local outlet reported that numerous civilians have fallen victim to daily bombardments neighbourhoods in Telkaif north of Mosul.
Mosul Youth and Girls, State and Flag reported that 15 people died, including children and six women. It attributed the violence to daily bombardment carried out by the besieging forces.
Given reported British actions in the area that day, Airwars flagged the incident to the UK’s MoD which said we can confirm that there was no UK involvement in the event.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
Geolocation notes
Reports of the incident mention the town of Tel Kepe (Tel Kayf) (تل كيف), for which the generic coordinates are: 36.4908349, 43.1204796. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.

Attached to this civilian harm incident is a provisional reconciliation of the Pentagon's declassified assessment of this civilian harm allegation, based on matching date and locational information.
The declassified documents were obtained by Azmat Khan and the New York Times through Freedom of Information requests and lawsuits filed since March 2017, and are included alongside the corresponding press release published by the Pentagon. Airwars is currently analysing the contents of each file, and will update our own assessments accordingly.

For October 29th-30th, the Coalition reported “Near Mosul, four strikes engaged an ISIL tactical unit; destroyed five fighting positions, three mortar systems, two ISIL-held buildings, two vehicles, a weapons storage facility, a command and control node, a tunnel entrance, a front-end loader, and an artillery system; damaged two fighting positions; and suppressed two tactical units and a heavy machine gun.”
