(Previous Incident Code: IRUAE260301d )
On the morning of Sunday, 1 March 2026, debris from alleged Iranian drones intercepted by air defence systems reportedly fell in the grounds of two residential houses in Dubai, injuring at least two people.
Emirati authorities stated that the injured individuals received all necessary medical treatment. The Dubai Media Office claimed that the sounds heard by residents were the result of a successful interception operation and that falling drone debris caused the reported injuries.
The incident was widely covered by both international and regional media outlets, including Sky News Arabia, Reuters and Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed, which also shared images of the sky showing the trails left by intercepted drones. However, no precise location within Dubai was identified in the reporting. Most of the sources reported the incident shortly after 8 a.m.
Most sources referred generally to intercepted drones, while only one source, @AlghadNews, specified it was an Iranian drone.
Some sources also reported that the incident caused panic among local residents.
Where sources identified a belligerent, one source attributed the strike to Iranian forces. Nile News specified that the interception was carried out by Emirati air defenses. As it is unclear whether the resulting harm should be attributed to the original drones or interception, Airwars has graded both strike status and civilian harm status of the incident as “contested.”
