A 12-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy were injured, and the material damage was inflicted on three homes and two vehicles when an alleged Iranian drone fell next to a residential house in the Al-Azraq District located in the Zarqa Governorate of Jordan on the morning of Thursday, June 19, 2025.  The girl was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment.

Jordan’s Public Security Directorate initially reported the injury of one child, a 12-year-old girl. Later, the news outlet Alaraby, referring to the Directorate, reported the treatment of the five-year-old boy who had also been wounded in the strike. The Alaraby report also contained an image where the remnants of the drone can be seen.

As reported by the Jordanian National Center for Security & Crises (@ncscmjordan) on Twitter/X, a military source in the Jordanian Armed Forces revealed that a drone laden with explosives had crashed in the morning next to a house in a residential area in the urban development zone, causing two injuries to two children and material damage. The military source also indicated that the cause of the drone crash, according to the estimates of experts from the Engineering Corps Directorate, was a technical malfunction in the operating system inside the drone, which led to its crash and explosion, creating a crater in the ground with a diameter of 3.20 meters and a depth of 90 cm. The wreckage of the drone was found 200 meters away. The explosion led to the shattering of the facade of a house after fragments from the drone were scattered.

According to multiple sources, Jordan’s Public Security Directorate confirmed the start of an investigation into the incident.

Facebook user “The noble establishment” reported the injury of two children as a result of the drone strike, sharing a video where a large cloud of white smoke billows in the skies.

On Twitter/X,@AlMamlakaTV shared the images related to the incident. One of the images showed the damaged entrance to a house where chunks of the damaged ceiling were lying on the ground. Another image showed a car with shattered window glass. The last image showed remnants of the drone on the ground.

A video by Al Hadath on Facebook also showed remnants of the drone and the crowd of onlookers surrounding the place where it fell.
