Airwars Assessment
On Monday, March 2, 2026, at least six people were killed and at least three, including a woman, wounded in an alleged U.S. and/or Israeli airstrike on a building of a diplomatic police on the Sepahbad Qarni Street, Tehran, Iran.
During the afternoon on March 2, @akhbarefore reported via Telegram a “bombing of civilians by the Israeli enemy on Sepahbad Qarni Street in Tehran.” The post included a video showing six bodies in black body bags and an injured screaming woman who is being consoled by emergency responders and others. The names and affiliations of those killed was not publicly available – this assessment will be updated if more information emerges.
That day, Shargh Daily published a video showing plumes of smoke across Tehran’s skyline, noting “Sepah Square, around Ferdowsi, Hemmat Highway, Zarrabkhaneh intersection, and areas in eastern Tehran have been targeted by missile attacks.” In another post, the news outlet reported that “the target of the criminal American-Zionist attack a few minutes ago near Tehran’s Ferdowsi Square was a diplomatic police station on Sepahbad Qarni Street.” Tasnim News also reported that “the diplomatic police building around Ferdowsi Square in Tehran was attacked by the US.”
An Instagram account called @saberifred, which primarily features pro-Shah and pro-Israel content, alleged that “informed sources from inside the country reported that […] a number of security officials were killed in air and electronic attacks from a remote “cyber” channel, including in the bombing of the diplomatic police headquarters on “Sepahbod Qarni” Street near Ferdowsi Square.” However, no other sources specified that security officials were killed in the attack. In the absence of specific reports of militant activity, the casualties have been graded as civilians. Airwars will update this assessment accordingly should evidence to the contrary become available.
Fararu news outlet published a number of photos following the “airstrike on Sepahbad Qarni Street,” showing destruction to buildings and vehicles, emergency responders combing through rubble, and at least one injured man with a bloodied face. In one of the photos, two men can be seen carrying a body on a stretcher. It is not clear if this is one of the bodies shown in the lineup of body bags documented by @akhbarefore and others.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to the U.S. and/or Israeli military.
